Voting day

SAWS’s national outlook for Tuesday and Wednesday is partly cloudy and warm to hot, with isolated to scattered afternoon showers and thundershowers. Its rainfall charts show isolated thundershowers over Gauteng on both days (SAWS on X).

As of 13:46 on Tuesday, SAWS had not issued a warning for Sedibeng or Fezile Dabi for Wednesday (SAWS warnings).

Voters queuing on Wednesday afternoon could still get caught in a shower, so an umbrella or jacket, plus water for the heat, is a sensible plan.

Driving to Johannesburg? The Gauteng Department of Roads and Transport says rehabilitation work is under way on the R59 between Eikenhof and Vereeniging, including sub-base stabilisation and asphalt surfacing (GPDRT on X). It has not published dates or lane closures. Allow extra time, especially in wet weather.
