What we correct

Factual errors, misattributions, and wrong warning levels, times or areas.

We add a dated correction note at the foot of the story, or at the top if the error is serious, saying what was wrong and what is right.
We do not silently edit factual errors.
Updated means we added new information. Correction means we got something wrong.

If a forecast page showed wrong or out-of-date data because of a technical fault, we note it on the affected page and in the log below.
